CyanogenMod is a free, community built, aftermarket firmware distribution of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), which is designed to increase performance and reliability over stock Android for your device.

Code:

#include
/*
 * Your warranty is now void.
 *
 * I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
 * do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 */

This is a preview build of CyanogenMod 10.1

Sauce:

What Works?
  • Almost everything but Bluetooth.(TODO: Update this)

Downloads
ROM: http://goo.im/devs/cdesai/cm/
Google Apps: 1 2

Installation
Note: this ROM uses the same partition layout as recent CM10 builds.
  1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
  2. Install the ROM using ClockworkMod Recovery
  3. Optionally install the Google Addon

Known Issues
  • Bluetooth as said before.
  • Bootanimation is landscape - that's normal
  • It might be landscape by default - just hold it like you would (if you prefer portrait layout) and it'll be fine
  • TODO: fill this moar

  • Initial release

Reporting Bugs

You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Note that this is a preview release and non-device specific bugs will not be accepted. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the rom again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.
  • Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
  • If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved.

Use these commands to get a logcat and dmesg
Code:

adb root
adb logcat > logcat.txt (wait for a few seconds then press Ctrl + C)
adb shell dmesg > dmesg.txt

My CM10.1 build for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" P1000/N/L/ (CDMA? testers?).
Based on the SGT7 repo (cdesai, sbradymobile and humberos) with PDroid patches.
Here is @cdesai's original thread.

Alroger's downloads (info, tips and troubleshooting included)
Humberos's downloads (you can use my PDroid Patches with them).

You can use the boot.img kernels inside the ZIPs to test other MTD builds like the official CyanogenMod and AOKP, which often don't offer latin kernels, as long as they have the same partition layout. This is CM10.1 = Android Jellybean 4.2.1.

[UPDATE: 20121212] The world is not over. Happy 12-12-12! Let's get to CM10.1.
For now you can try cdesai's and humberos' CM10.1. I'm starting a fresh compile. When I get it right with pdroid, latest geotagging fixes and pl serial driver for those who requested I will post my build.

PDroid Patches included and available separately as CwM Flash install.
NoMoarPowah! GalaxyTab stockblue theme available.

OBS: No need to restock if coming from CM10.

Easy restock from Gingerbread:
  • Flash full stock Gingerbread (with repartition).
  • Flash Kernel with CwM. Doesn't have to be Overcome, could be any CF-root kernel for your model.
  • Boot directly into CwM Recovery, holding VolUp.
  • Flash CM10 ROM and GApps!
Cheers! Thanks everyone!

[GUIDE] How to GB(root) ICS and JB a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S] from korea

$

Hi,

First of all, if moderatos think that this guide sould be on other place, please feel free to move it to a correct location.

I'm writing this guide because I think that there is not clear and concise information on how to flash diferent and up to date ROMs on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 [SHW-M180S], the korean version.

All the info I've found was very fragmented and also is the inconvenient that the TAB is exclusive for Korea, so all the info was in korean.

Diging around and with extra help from forum member SmaRkieS whom I want to give a big thanks, I was able to root my tab and also upgrade it to ICS and JellyBean.

I'm going to separate by Android versions.

- Gingerbread (Root):
Well, if your TAB is Android 2.3.6 UC27 it's very possible that you cannot root it by this two methods http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...73&postcount=2

So, I've found that there is an Android 2.3.6 UC27 ROM which is rooted. To flash it (same procedure for all the other roms for this TAB) use Odin 1.85 Just downoad this ROM (Android 2.3.6 UC27), run Odin and check that is like this

Click the PDA button and select the ROM you downloaded and click Start. Let it finish and the TAB will reboot and Gingerbread rooted ROM will be installed

Here is an Odin tutorial
And here you can find all the Stock ROMs

- IceCreamSandwich:

This rom will enable your tab to 10 point capacitive touch screen.

This is ICS AOPK 4.0.4
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/...Stable_2.0.tar

You have to flash it with the Odin method. When it finish and the TAB reboots, I recomend to turn it of and enter the revovery mode by pressing vol up+power and do a full wipe.

First time I flashed this ROM it takes hours to boot, and by hours I mean 5 or 6. I did the full wipe and let it boot by night, next morning the TAB have booted and was asking for the initial setup. So don't despair, it will finally boot. I promise.

- JellyBean:
Do not flash this ROM if you don't have previously flashed ICS!

This is JellyBean 4.1.2
http://main.develoid.com:81/samsung/....0S%20Full.tar

To flash it, first do a nandroid backup (for your own safety), then full wipe and finaly use same Odin method as in the others to flash the ROM.

Hope this tutorial will be useful to all of those ones, as me, that own a Galaxy TAB Korean version and are not koreans and were having problems finding how to root or upgrade and all the info is in korean.

By the way, excuse my english because I'm from Spain and I'm sure I did a lot of misstakes.

Thanks for watching!!!:highfive:

The GT-P1010 it's a forgotten device by Samsung, knowing that it has the capabilities to run some of the most updated versions of android we are still waiting for advanced developers to port it, In the mean time I bring you today a themed ROM just to resemble the look of android Jelly Bean. This is still beta but with your help it can get to final :)

IMPORTANT: Advanced knowledge of what your doing it's required, I'm not responsible for the mismanagement of your device, soft-brick or hard-brick. Still, I'm here to help you with whatever you need.

WHAT'S NEW?
  • The Android system it's pretty much the same, the ROM is based on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6 KPO latest update for UK.
  • The status bar has been resized and extracted what was not needed, the toggles has been resized as well to gain more notification area on portrait and more importantly in landscape mode, added transparency too.
  • Theme for Settings and Main Menu is now black
  • Added new icons to resemble Jelly Bean.
  • New pop dialogs, menus, bars, buttons, radios, checks and more
  • Colors for the status bar clock and icons.
  • Still working on the keyboard, launcher, browser, lockscreen and some other sys apps but that its up to YOU guys.

WHAT DO I NEED?
  • STOCK ROM GB 2.3.6 2012 July P1010XXKPO P1010XEUKPO
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/163467092/...O_XEU.zip.html (mirror later)

After a few minutes your tab will boot in Stock KPO GB 2.3.6 android, turn off your tab again.

6. JBROM BETA RC1.2 BK201EKY: Transfer your downloaded file: "NANDROID_JBROM_RC1.2_BK201EKY.rar" to the following path:
"/sdcard:/clockworkmod/backup" (if doesn't exist create folders all lowercase) paste and extract here. From the app drawer selecet CMW Manager, grant superuser, select Reboot mode and Reboot, you are now in CWM Recovery. Navigate using your Vol +/- and Power as selector to: "backup and restore" then: "- restore" now: "- JBROM_RC1.2_BK201EKY" and finally: "Yes - Restore" once finish choose: "reboot system now" and wait ETA 5mins. Troubleshooting
Quote:

  • Mobile, Data, 3G problems? This ROM comes with the JPZ modem. You might need to flash your customary modem back. Just copy your modem.bin to /radio in the Tab.
Wrong MAC? Wrong IMEI? Try restoring files from /sdcard/backup/efs*/* to /efs/. If you don’t have a backup, then start over with FULL Restock, and next time save your backup/efs folders, which are created everytime you install CM10.1.
  • Market problems? Clear Google Services Framework data and reboot.
  • Multiple users is NOT supported by the OpenPDroid Patches.
  • Developer options: can’t find it? It’s hidden! Tap About tablet / Build number 7 times to unlock it.
  • No touch? That means you got the wrong kernel installed. A couple of builds had problems identifying the exact model. Just flash your kernel through recovery or heimdall / odin.
  • No boot? Stuck at the SAMSUNG logo? Flash the correct kernel using Download Mode using heimdall!
  • Deep Sleep not kicking in? Try wiping cLock’s data or freezing / removing it (com.cyanogenmod.lockclock).

Read about flashing, rooting, going back to stock, bricking and unbricking, the various AOSP and CM versions and their derivatives,
odexed versus deodexed files, Dalvik, ART, etc.
Do not expect us to answer your questions if they are already answered in my first few posts or somewhere else in the thread.
Test your ROM that you've flashed carefully and thoroughly.
We will not answer questions that claim something doesn't work when we know it does.
  • Always back up what you mind losing (eg. /data) before flashing. Better still, back up everything via a nandroid backup.
Or you can use the Titanium or Helium app to back up what you want to save.
  • The cm-11.0 builds are largely experimental and will most probably have lots of FCs and random reboots.
For a more stable build, get cm-10.2 which is quite stable, or cm-10.1 which is well-tested and stable.
You can get builds of previous versions from the Downloads section (coming soon).
  • The cm-11.0 and cm-10.2 builds for P1C are UNTESTED, so P1C testers are welcomed to test and feedback so I can modify those builds.
  • I'm a programmer by training and profession. Here, I'm a ROM builder, programmer and scripter.
I may make changes to the code (local repos) pulled from the remote repos to suit my builds.
I build CUSTOM ROMs and NOT OFFICIAL ROMs. Nevertheless, ALMOST ALL the original code will be
left unchanged. If you strictly want an OFFICIAL ROM, you are in the wrong thread.
  • Except where I made enhancements and fixes to certain aspects of the ROMs, I am not one of the original developers.
So do not expect me to fix or include PRIMARY features not already in the builds.
You can tell us what works, what doesn't. You can tell us what's good and what's not. You can tell us what you want in the ROMs.
And through this thread, hopefully, the developers will take take. We will certainly take what you say into consideration as that's what this
thread is for, but we may or may not be able to help fix everything, and are not obliged to do anything you say.
  • You are encouraged to participate actively in this thread. This thread is for you. Without you, this thread is meaningless. Help us to help you.
  • This thread is STRICTLY only for custom ROMs based on Android 4.4 KitKat built for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7".
ROM builders for Android 4.4 are welcomed to post such builds in this thread. NO UNRELATED POSTS HERE.

  • Back up.
  • If you haven't backed up your /efs folder, restock to GB-v5, root your tab and back up the /efs folder.
  • If you want to repartition your internal sdcard, do it now but back up any stuff in the sdcard partition (1st partition, fat32)
you want to save. Remember to have at least 3 partitions, in this order: sdcard (fat32), data (ext4), cache (linux-swap).
If you're not confident of doing it right, DON'T do it - use the default.
  • Verify the integrity of the cm-11-YYYYMMDD-terenceng-p1.zip and and other zip files before you proceed.
You can let CwM or TWRP verify for you before it flashes by also copying the corresponding .md5 files
if available to the same location (root of internal or external sdcard).
  • Wipe cache, dalvik cache and data.
  • Wipe or format system.
  • Flash cm-11-YYYYMMDD-terenceng-p1.zip.
  • Flash SuperSU-v1.65.zip.
  • Reboot. When recovery asks if you want to root your tab or install SuperSU, go ahead and install.
  • Allow tab up to 20 minutes to reboot to the initial Setup screen.
  • Complete the initial setup (including Google Account setup. CM Account setup is optional).
  • When a (blank) Home screen appears, pull down and Go to Settings, and enable developer options, allow installation from unknown sources, enable android debugging, advanced reboot, etc.
  • Ensure you are connected to the internet (eg. setup and enable Wifi). Press Home.
  • Launch SuperSU Installer app. When prompted, choose TWRP to install SuperSU.
The tab will download the SuperSU installation file. Once download completes, press Continue
and the tab will reboot to TWRP, complete the SuperSU installation and reboot.
  • Launch SuperSU app, choose Settings | Default access | Grant.
You may now want to verify you have root access.
  • Restore /efs and/or replace /radio/modem.bin with your local modem.bin if necessary, and reboot.
  • To get GApps, use the included Play Store app to download whatever Google apps you want
from the Play Store. At the current state of development, do NOT anyhow flash a GApps package
you see out there even if they claim to be "universal", "4.4-compatible", "ART-compatible", etc.
Until there is a true "official" 4.4-compatible GApps package (from goo.im/gapps for example),
I'll look into compiling a build (or various builds) for this ROM. Let me know which apps
    you want.

System will reboot. The reboot (including "Optimizing Apps") will take a LONG time as the system

This are highly experimental and unofficial builds of CM 11.0
This build is very similar to cdesai build current!

 * thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please

 * before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
 * you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
 */

I'm not responsible for damages, bricks etc.!
You do all at your own risk!
If you don't know how it to use, ask a question or search here in the forum for your answer!
This thread is an attempt to support the devs to find bugs and to make SGT Roms better.

[NEEDED] Full Odin Package for SCH-I800

Please, anyone, I can't seem to find a mirror of a working Odin package anywhere out there in the ether. It doesn't matter what firmware revision it is so long as it is a full package that can restore and repartition. I will also provide a mirror to the file when I receive it.

Thanks,
~Terror_1

Hey guys,

ONLY FLASH ON P1000 devices!!!

The official CM11 nightly builds are up and running. Get the official CM11 latest nightly here: http://get.cm/get/cFj
It has the latest commits and the recovery at boot works fine. Art is working fine, but you need to repartition your tab first.

1. Flash the ZIP from recovery as usual. Upgrade from previous CM versions is automatic.
2. Reboot into system. Setup the device and reboot back into recovery.
3. Flash the gapps found here: Banks GApps or official CM11 GApps (some users seem to encounter FCs with official GApps)
4. Reboot into system.
5. Profit???

Thanks to all of the CyanogenMod team, our official device maintainer (cdesai) and terenceng for his awesome work on the P1000 CM11 builds.

Cheers,
C.

Installation
Note: this ROM uses the same partition layout as previous CyanogenMod builds.
  1. Do a Nandroid Backup!
  2. Install the ROM using ClockworkMod Recovery
  3. Optionally install the Google Addon

Reporting Bugs

You are allowed to report bugs only in this thread. Note that this is a preview release and non-device specific bugs will not be accepted. Before reporting a bug, please make sure you are running as stock as possible. This means no custom kernel, no custom framework modification, etc. If you are using any of the above modifications, please flash the build again to get rid of the modifications before reporting.

OmniROM
for Samsung Galaxy Tab 7" (GT-P1000/L/N)
*** UNOFFICIAL / ALPHA ***

http://www.omnirom.org

a new upcoming, opensource project that is growing massively day by day - created by some of the best and most well known XDA devs, and 100% community driven.

please stop by and check out the official website above for details, or visit their XDA hosted section at: http://forum.xda-developers.com/omni

*** NOTE: this project is still very new - don't expect all the features you'd expect in the more established roms, like CM / AOKP or PA, but it will change a lot with every release!

>> DISCLAIMER ::

Quote:

THIS IS AN ALPHA RELEASE - THINGS MAY NOT WORK AS EXPECTED

upon flashing this release, you hearby void the ability to complain if it breaks something. although i always try to test things as best i can, i can't guarantee it won't make your tablet crash, lose your data, spontaneously combust, and burn your house downor lose your job due to the alarm not going off to wake you up - this is experimental and should be treated that way!

this, unlike my AOKP SGT7 builds does not come with "extra" features, i have intentionally tried to keep this as stock as possible.

>> WORKING ::
  • everything that works on other CM 11 builds (hopefully)
  • TWRP - working with VOL-UP + POWER on boot
  • screenshots / rotation etc.
  • standard CM 3.0.101 kernel

ART :: read the other CM 11 threads (either @storm31 or @terenceng 's wonderful threads) on how to repartition your internal storage to get ART working - you need at least 256MB of /cache space to get this working properly. while i haven't tried it myself with OmniROM, if you feel brave please do, and report your findings back in the thread

>> NOT WORKING ::
  • front camera - no, it's not fixed yet.
  • boot animation still off-centre at start of boot
  • electron beam (screen off animation) rotation is broken - you can set it to fade out (that works fine)
  • external storage does not mount in UMS (last minute discovery, i use adb)

FOUND SOMETHING ELSE? report it WITH LOGS in the forum and i will do my best to fix it, for information on how to obtain logs, i suggest reading on the AOKP SGT7 website for detailed explanations.

>> INSTALLATION ::

*** NOTE *** it's best to be on the latest TWRP / CwM before installing this, though it should be fine, if all else fails install CM 11 or any 10.2 rom
  • BACKUP!!! save everything incase something goes bad
  • copy the ROM onto your SD card
  • reboot into recovery
  • do a factory reset / dalvik cache wipe (in TWRP use the wipe menu, and go "ADVANCED WIPE", cross all boxes except for your SD cards)
  • install the ROM, gapps (read below), and SuperSU (links at the bottom of the page)
  • reboot, and wait (it will take a long time on first boot)

GAPPS :: i highly recommend using BaNKs gapps packages - either CORE or STANDARD (PA's are too big for the /system partition of the SGT7)
